Post by Tiramisu Sun May 02, 2010 8:09 pm

Guess since coming back on here I will post pics of my new chicks.
Bought at the Maqouketa swap that I went to with Jerrit.
2 silkies and 1 mutt silkie.
The mutt, friendliest one out of them.

Buff and Partridge Silkie.

Oh and they are about 7 weeks old now. They were about 5 weeks in the pic.

I guess, I don't think they really cared, the only thing I think they like better is its smaller so easy to eat, unlike the birdseed. Rolling Eyes

Most birds do not like millet, it is a filler seed mostly.

I've always liked Mille Fleurs too.
I like lots of breeds Rolling Eyes

I still want some Seramas....Hopefully I can go be with Jerrit and then we can order from mrandmrschicken. He also has vorwerks(sp) those are pretty birds too.
I like cochins, OEGB's, sumatras, sultans, polish, japanese bantams, phoenix, yokohamas. Thats all I can think of right now.

Why is silkie not a chicken? I think its just a chicken with, I think its called hookless feathers. Which can happen in any mutation for any chicken. And there are a couple others with black skin too. I don't know about extra toes though, but you hardly notice that with feathered legs.

I wish my silkies never died :/ i think the feed that i got killed them somehow. Seramas would be nice to have. Like how small they are they would make cool indoor pets or what ever.

Seramas are popular house/indoor pets in Malaysia. Because of the small size. They also outnumber cats and dogs as pets.

I think the black one is a roo. It has wattles developing already and its face/wattles/and the bit of comb it has are redish. So im guessing it is a boy. The partridge has some wattles coming in too and the buff might, so still unsure with them.
